Mt. Wrangell Plateau
This is a great spot for an introduction to the Alaskan backcountry. Enjoy the easy hiking across the plateau with stunning views of Wrangell and others as well as views of Long Glacier.
The more adventurous can descend to the glacier and spend an afternoon exploring the exciting and varied world of ice. Other hikes include Cheshnina Falls.
Easy walking combined with stunning veiws make this an ideal spot for a laid-back excursion into the Alaskan wild.

We thought our flight around Denali the day before was great, but this one around Mt Sanford and Mt Drum was even better. Pilot Katherine flew us close to the peaks, over herds of Dahl Sheep, and shared much of the history of these mountains. I’m a 12,000 hour ATP rated flight instructor. I can tell you that her flying skills are as sharp as any pilot I’ve ever flown with!
